President Thomas E. Stinnett called the regular meeting of the Riegelsville Borough Council to order at 7:30 p.m. July11, 2012. Following the Pledge of Allegiance a roll call was taken. PRESENT: Edward Bartosiewicz, Rich Pursell, Rodney Scott, Thomas Stinnett, Kathleen Weiss and Mayor Stokes
K. Weiss motioned to approve the minutes of the June 13, 2012 Council Meeting. E. Bartosiewicz seconded. Unanimous.
CORRESPONDENCE:
Letter was read dated June 19, 2012, from Bridgeton Township Supervisors requesting Council’s approval for Riegelsville Fire Police during the Upper Black Eddy Carnival. Council approved and S. Masteller will send a letter.
Letter was read dated June 28, 2012, from Natural Lands Trust in reference to Montgomery Land Trust joining together.
REPORTS:
President – T. Stinnett reported that Council had an executive session for personnel reasons on Wednesday June 20th after the Utilities Committee meeting.
Mayor – Mayor Stokes reported to Council that he performed two weddings. Mayor Stokes called the Borough office to tell S. Masteller about a York Rake that he saw for sale in case the Rec Board was interested. S. Masteller contacted R. Scott to ask if the rec board could use one and R. Scott said he can borrow one to do the big field.
CITIZENS COMMENTS: Elaine Albrecht, Member of the Riegelsville Enhancement Committee, reported to Council that the Bulletin Board at the Pedestrian Bridge looks GREAT!
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Community Affairs: Kim Gaspar, Eastern Upper Bucks Senior Center Manager reported to Council that they have a membership of about 300. They serve 650 individuals food vouchers. Kim is looking into grants to help with their services. There has been a rise in calls pertaining to food pantry, food stamps and Alzheimer Care. Kim continues to try and find a new location for the Center that is more cost efficient since funding keeps getting cut. Remarks: the present location is $1900.00 a month.
Zoning: K. Clayton, zoning officer is on vacation
Fire Co. News: E. Bartosiewicz reported that Fire Co. Breakfast is Sunday July 15, 2012 8am to noon. The June Fathers Day breakfast served around 420. The Fire Co. bought a used Pumper/Rescue Fire Truck and it is getting lettered. AC is being installed in the Fire House.
Library News: Margaret Fritz, Library Board member, reported to Council that “Dream Big Read” FREE summer reading program started June 19-August 2, 2012.

Riegelsville Enhancement Committee (REC) News: They sold slates and had a bake sale during the June Fire Co. Breakfast and raised $233.25.
EMS News: Ed Bartosiewicz attended the June meeting of UBREMS.
Rec Board News: one more T-Ball game and the season will be done. Award party is scheduled for Saturday July 14th at 2pm
Riegelsville Emergency Management: Nothing was reported to the Borough Secretary
Utilities: St Lawrence Water work: Dick Meade, Borough Water Operator and M. Brady took the bacterial sample today June 20, 2012 and Dick will drop it off to QC Labs. Remarks: bacterial sample passed.
Boiler/Chimney update: KC Mechanical was supposed to send a letter of response to Council by tonight’s meeting but it has not arrived as of 3pm when the Borough office closes.
D. Meade needs to get the spare chlorinator rebuilt the cost is approximately $690.00 no shipping since Dick will pick it up.

Approval for the estimate of $567.62 to Riegelsville Auto to fix the Rotor, Back brake pads, parking brake shoes on the Borough Dump Truck. E. Bartosiewicz motioned to approve. R. Scott seconded. Unanimous
Approval of check for $472.50 (General Fund) Check for $472.50 (Water Co.) to Riegelsville Auto to fix tie-rods for the loader. R. Scott motioned to approve. R. Pursell seconded. Unanimous
Approval of check $2669.70 to Seal Master of Allentown for the purchase Seal Tar Buggy and accessories. E. Bartosiewicz motioned to approve. R. Scott Seconded. Unanimous
Approval of check for $585.76 to Nick Zangli Plumbing, for replacing the Septic pipe in the basement. E. Bartosiewicz motioned to approve. R. Pursell seconded. Unanimous
Approval of check for $690.00 to Severn Trent for rebuilding the Chlorinator. R. Scott motioned to approve. R. Pursell seconded. Unanimous
NEW BUSINESS:
R. Pursell reported to Council that he is looking for a small trailer to put the Tar buggy on.
T. Stinnett asked S. Masteller to find out why the Liquor Board budget is short. S. Masteller will ask T. Macaluso and also call the Liquor Control Board.
