2020 County/Borough Real Estate tax payments and 2020 Per Capita tax payments can be made using one check. Payments can be made using the bill payer option through your bank if you choose. I just ask that in the memo section of the check please enter your bill number so I can record your payment(s) correctly. Please refrain from using cash as your payment of choice. I have had a few checks where the written portion of the check was incorrect and I could not accept them. When writing out your check, please be sure that the written portion of the check is wroteout correctly, take a moment to double check before submitting. If possible, please MAIL your tax payment, the locked box between the Borough Office doors is being checked on a weekly basis only. If you submitted your payment and it has not cleared within a day or two of your submittal, please be patient. I am going to the Post Office twice a week, to limit my potential exposure to Covid-19. If your check has not cleared a week after your submittal please give me a call, 610-749-2909 or send me an email, rvilletaxcollector@gmail.com and I will check to be sure that I do not have it in my possession.

During the May 13, 2020 Council meeting, there will be a Resolution on the agenda for approval:

“A RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF RIEGELSVILLE, BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, EXTENDING THE FACE PERIOD DUE DATE FOR THE PAYMENT OF 2020 REAL ESTATE TAXES AND THE PAYMENT OF 2020 PER CAPITA TAXES TO JULY 30, 2020.”

This is from BC Commissioner Minutes:  

Item 12b – Commissioner Harvie advised that the commissioners have been receiving questions from citizens and local municipalities regarding the impending deadline for municipal and county property taxes. The commissioner explained that the discount rate if taxes are paid by April 30th is 2% but the penalty for paying after June 30th is 10%. Therefore, after consulting with county staff as well as the Bucks County Association of Tax Collectors, the commissioners have decided to move the penalty date back thirty days from July 1st to July 31st. The commissioner clarified that the discount date will remain April 30th. This extension of the penalty date is for county taxes only but the commissioners are recommending that the municipal tax penalty deadline be moved as well.

MESSAGE FROM THE TAX COLLECTOR

 

The County portion of your current 2018 County & Municipal Real Estate Tax Bill, dated 3/1/2018 is incorrect.  A corrected bill with updated dues dates will be sent within the next week. If your taxes are paid through your mortgage, please notify them that the bills you sent them are incorrect and a new bill will follow.  If you have already made this payment, your check will be returned to you, please look for it in the mail. If you combined your Real Estate Taxes and your Per Capita Taxes in one check, this check, along with the corresponding stubs will be returned to you as well.   I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your patience with this matter.

Message from the Tax Collector

When paying you tax bills, please send back the stub that says “Tax Collector Copy” along with your check.

  • If you would like a stamped receipt, please send both copies along with your stamped envelope.
  • Post-dated checks WILL NOT be accepted.

 Message from the Recorder of Deeds

 There is a deed scam going on by two companies, Local Records Office out of Harrisburg, PA and Realty Transfer Services out of Wilmington, DE that are sending “bills” to new property owner’s for $85.00 to receive a copy of their deed.  If you receive one of these “bills” and would like a copy of your deed, please contact the Recorder of Deeds Office in Bucks County and they will guide you further how to get a copy for much less than $85.00.
