President Thomas E. Stinnett called the regular meeting of the Riegelsville Borough Council to order at 7:30p.m. January 12, 2011. Following the Pledge of Allegiance a roll call was taken. PRESENT: Edward Bartosiewicz, John Panasiuk, Rodney Scott, Thomas Stinnett , Kathleen Weiss and Mayor Stokes
E. Bartosiewicz motioned to approve the minutes of the December 8th, 2010 Council Meeting and K. Weiss seconded. Unanimous.
K. Weiss motioned to approve the minutes from the December 22, 2010 Special Council meeting for 2011 Budget and Ord. 217 Tax Levy for 2011 and E. Bartosiewicz seconded. Unanimous.
CORRESPONDENCE:
A letter dated December 22, 2010 was read from Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission concerning their plans to hold a January 5, 2011 rededication ceremony to mark the completion of a comprehensive rehabilitation of the Riegelsville Toll-Supported Bridge.
A letter dated December 23, 2010 was read from Cowan Associates, Inc., Borough Engineer stating they had received a draft copy of the Delaware Road project (PennDOT Canal Bridge and Temp. Bridge near Pedestrian Bridge) which will affect the Pedestrian Light project that will be started very soon.
A letter dated December 28, 2010 from Community Fire Company #1 thanking Council for the donations over the last year.
A note was received from the Panasiuk Family thanking Borough Council and Staff for the beautiful flowers that was sent due to the passing of John’s Mother.
A letter dated January 5, 2011 from the Bucks County Borough Association announcing their next meeting on January 25th, 2011.
REPORTS
President – T. Stinnett hoped everyone had Happy Holidays! T. Stinnett recognized Boy Scout Troop #127 for their outstanding services to the Community of Riegelsville which included:
*Holiday food Drive 4015 pounds
*8-mile area of the canal clean-up Between Easton and Riegelsville
*Veterans Ceremony with the local American Legion
*Two flag retirement Ceremonies
*Assisted the Library twice in 2010 setting up tents for their fundraisers
*Assisted the local churches with functions
*Was called upon at the last minute to help a disabled veteran move from one apartment into another apartment in the Borough.
A certificate was presented to Troop #127 in recognition for the outstanding community service for 2010 from the Riegelsville Borough Council.
Mayor – Mayor Stokes reported an increase in traffic due to the Delaware River Bridge being closed for repairs in Upper Black Eddy. Mayor Stokes discussed this with Trooper Groman. Mayor Stokes participated in the January 5th, 2011 rededication of the Riegelsville Toll-supported Bridge.
CITIZENS COMMENTS: Rich McClellan, Director of Community Affairs with DRJTB Commission attended the Council Meeting to express his sincere thanks to Borough Council and the Riegelsville Community for helping to make the Riegelsville Toll-Supported Bridge rehabilitation project a success.
Bob Rainey reported that the Riegelsville Enhancement Committee still has Community Coupon Booklets available for only $20.00

NEW BUSINESS:
Mailbox damaged from Borough Truck during snow storm @ 300 Maple Lane~ will be discussed during the Streets and Properties Committee meeting.
The Borough Boiler has had many repairs since Christmas day and is continuing to be repaired. Borough Insurance Co. started a claim for these issues.
