Riegelsville Borough was incorporated in 1916, having previously been a village situated in Durham Township. Since that time, the Borough Council has held monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm. From 1916 until 1994, the Borough Council consisted of seven members. In August 1994, the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas granted the Borough’s request to decrease the number of councilpersons from seven to five. Our population according to the 2010 US Census is 868, but the potential for growth is great as there are approximately 300 acres of undeveloped land that was annexed into the Borough in the sixties.
