{"id":7128,"date":"2020-04-23T12:25:56","date_gmt":"2020-04-23T16:25:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riegelsville.org\/?p=7128"},"modified":"2020-04-23T12:25:56","modified_gmt":"2020-04-23T16:25:56","slug":"update-4-21-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riegelsville.org\/?p=7128","title":{"rendered":"Update 4\/21\/20"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Updated: 4\/21\/20 Riegelsville Borough office, Tax Office and Zoning Office will be CLOSED to the public<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and Governor Wolf\u2019s has extended the &#8220;Stay at Home Order&#8221; until May 8, 2020<\/p>\n<p>Riegelsville Borough office, Tax Office and Zoning Office will be CLOSED to the public, effective immediately through MAY 8, 2020.\u00a0The Borough employees will continue working.\u00a0\u00a0You may call the offices, Fax or email.<\/p>\n<p>The scheduled Council Committee meeting on Wednesday May 6, 2020 has been cancelled.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>*** Water bills have been mailed the DUE DATE has been extended until\u00a0June 1, 2020\u00a0do the Corona virus\u00a0Emergency.***\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>***Please be assured that all emergency services, including police, fire, and EMS services, will continue to run without interruption.\u00a0In the event of an emergency, please dial 911.<\/p>\n<p>We will keep you updated as to what businesses are remaining open in the area.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Muellers General Store is open, the restaurant is closed Monday &amp; Tuesday\u2019s should reopen Wednesday.<\/li>\n<li>Borderline, \u201cTakeOut\u201d only 610-749-0833.<\/li>\n<li>Riegelsville Inn, &#8220;TakeOut&#8221; only 610-749-0100<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>Riegelsville Borough encourages all members of the community to stay safe and follow the best practices to avoid infection. These practices include the points below:<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wash your hands frequently using soap and water, especially before eating and after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.<\/li>\n<li>Use hand sanitizer if you are unable to wash with soap and water.<\/li>\n<li>Use household cleaning spray or disinfectant wipes to regularly clean surfaces and objects that are frequently used or touched.<\/li>\n<li>Stay home if you are sick.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a safe distance of six (6) feet when speaking or meeting with others.<\/li>\n<li>The CDC.gov recommends wearing a mask to protect others when going out in public. Please wear a cloth mask when you leave your home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>To keep up-to-date with important information regarding COVID-19, please see the following resources:<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>World Health Organization (WHO)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/emergencies\/diseases\/novel-coronavirus-2019\">https:\/\/www.who.int\/emergencies\/diseases\/novel-coronavirus-2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>The Centers for Disease Control (CDC)<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/summary.html\">https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/summary.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Pennsylvania Department of Health Media Page<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.media.pa.gov\/Pages\/Health.aspx\">https:\/\/www.media.pa.gov\/Pages\/Health.aspx<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Bucks County Health Department<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.buckscounty.org\/government\/healthservices\/HealthDepartment\/CoronavirusInfo\">http:\/\/www.buckscounty.org\/government\/healthservices\/HealthDepartment\/CoronavirusInfo<\/a><\/p>\n<p><i>The Borough will use its website (<\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/riegelsville.org\/\">www.riegelsville.org<\/a>) and (\u201cRville Happenings\u201d) Email to update the community in the coming days and weeks.<\/p>\n<p><b>From the Tax Collector:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>2020 County\/Borough Real Estate tax payments and 2020 Per Capita tax payments can be made using one check.\u00a0Payments can be made using the bill payer option through your bank if you choose.\u00a0I just ask that in the memo section of the check please enter your bill number so I can record your payment(s) correctly.\u00a0Please refrain from using cash as your payment of choice.\u00a0I have had a few checks where the\u00a0written\u00a0portion of the check was incorrect and I could not accept them.\u00a0When writing out your check, please be sure that the written portion of the check is wroteout correctly, take a moment to double check before submitting.\u00a0If possible, please MAIL your tax payment, the locked box between the Borough Office doors is being checked on a weekly basis only.\u00a0If you submitted your payment and it has not cleared within a day or two of your submittal, please be patient.\u00a0I am going to the Post Office twice a week, to limit my potential exposure to Covid-19.\u00a0If your check has not cleared a week after your submittal please give me a call, 610-749-2909 or send me an email,\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:rvilletaxcollector@gmail.com\">rvilletaxcollector@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0and I will check to be sure that I do not have it in my possession.<\/p>\n<p>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>During the May 13, 2020 Council meeting, there will be a Resolution on the agenda for approval:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8220;A RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF RIEGELSVILLE, BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, EXTENDING THE FACE PERIOD DUE DATE FOR THE PAYMENT OF 2020 REAL ESTATE TAXES AND THE PAYMENT OF 2020 PER CAPITA TAXES TO JULY 30, 2020.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>This is from BC Commissioner Minutes:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Item 12b &#8211; Commissioner Harvie advised that the commissioners have been receiving questions from citizens and local municipalities regarding the impending deadline for municipal and county property taxes. The commissioner explained that the discount rate if taxes are paid by April 30<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0is 2% but the penalty for paying after June 30<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0is 10%. Therefore, after consulting with county staff as well as the Bucks County Association of Tax Collectors, the commissioners have decided to move the penalty date back thirty days from July 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0to July 31<sup>st<\/sup>. The commissioner clarified that the discount date will remain April 30<sup>th<\/sup>.
