President Thomas E. Stinnett called the regular meeting of the Riegelsville Borough Council to order at 7:30 p.m. January 9, 2013.\u00a0Following the Pledge of Allegiance a roll call was taken.\u00a0 PRESENT:\u00a0Edward Bartosiewicz, Rich Pursell, Thomas Stinnett and Kathleen Weiss.\u00a0 E. Bartosiewicz motioned to approve the minutes of the<\/strong> December 12, 2012<\/strong> Council Meeting. \u00a0R. Pursell seconded.\u00a0 Unanimous.<\/strong><\/p>\n

CORRESPONDENCE: \u00a0<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n

Letter dated November 24, 2012 from Community Fire Company #1 Pete Cox, President and Lee Ann Hissim, Auxiliary President thanking the Borough Council for the generous gift of $1000.00.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Letter dated December 14, 2012 from Aqua Pennsylvania, Inc. yearly letter to see if the Riegelsville Water Company would like to sell to Aqua PA.\u00a0 Council unanimously stated that they are not going to sell the water company.<\/p>\n

Letter dated December 21, 2012 from Nockamixon Emergency Management Agency, addressed to Borough EOC.\u00a0 Official acknowledgement of your generous contribution to our community welfare during last month\u2019s Superstorm Sandy weather emergency.<\/p>\n

Letter dated January 2, 2013 from William Dudeck, Borough Solicitor to James G. Sweeney, Esquire<\/p>\n

\u201cOrdinance vacating a certain Cul-de-sac at the terminus of Poplar Road\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Email dated January 2, 2013 from Borough Resident, Elizabeth Balogh in reference to a Penn Dot issue.\u00a0 S. Masteller will pass this email to Ron Martin with PennDOT.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Email dated January 2, 2013 Borough Resident, Tom Speicher in reference to water shut off for second bill.\u00a0 E. Bartosiewicz motioned to cancel the second water bill since the apartment is not being rented anymore.\u00a0 R. Pursell seconded. Unanimous.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Email dated January 8, 2013 from Cemetery Administrator, Tammy Macaluso in reference to the Borough plowing on Church Road and leaving piles of dirt.\u00a0 R. Pursell suggested the Cemetery put up reflectors.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Email dated January 8, 2013 from Borough resident, Marie Knecht in reference to joining the Riegelsville Borough Recreation Board.\u00a0 E. Bartosiewicz motioned to appoint Marie Knecht to the Recreation Board. \u00a0Seconded by K. Weiss. \u00a0Unanimous.<\/strong><\/p>\n

REPORTS:<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 President \u2013 <\/strong>T. Stinnett reported to Council that for 2012 the expenses were 12% over budget and the income was 15% over budget.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mayor<\/strong> \u2013 Mayor absent<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em>Approval of Resolution R-01-13, adding \u201cMemo\u201d to the duplicate tax bill. E. Bartosiewicz motioned to approve. \u00a0K. Weiss seconded. \u00a0Unanimous.<\/strong><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Motion to approve check for $385.00 to Barry Hoffman (Well #3 auto con repair). R. Pursell motioned to approve. \u00a0E. Bartosiewicz seconded. \u00a0Unanimous.<\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Council discussed with M. Brady the Borough portion towards his health insurance. Council agreed to 75%of the premium quarterly with M. Brady paying 25% of the cost.<\/p>\n
