Riegelsville Borough Seeks An Experienced, Part-Time, Permanent Treasurer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This statutory municipal role manages all fund-based bookkeeping, accounts payable, payroll, water utilities, and state compliance reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates must be experienced, detail-oriented and bondable and have strong communication skills and a pleasant disposition, as the treasurer interacts daily with vendors, government entities and residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Treasurer hours are Tuesday through Friday, 8am \u2013 2pm; the rate of pay is $23 – $25 per hour, depending upon experience. There will be training from the outgoing treasurer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Bookkeeping & Cash Management: Post all receipts, manage bank deposits, reconcile accounts in Caselle software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Accounts Payable & Payroll: Prepare monthly invoices for Council approval, co-sign checks, process bi-weekly\/monthly payroll, and handle bi-weekly, quarterly, and annual tax filings (W-2s, 1099s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Water Utility Billing: Key in quarterly meter readings, process billing statements, and track late payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 State Compliance & Audits: Prepare critical annual reports including the MS-965 (due January 31st) and PURTA (due April 1st). Cooperate with state auditors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Budget Support: Assemble historical data and projected project costs to build the annual budget worksheet for Borough Council review and approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Experience: Previous experience in municipal accounting, government bookkeeping, or fund-based accounting is strongly preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Software: Proven proficiency with Caselle software (or an equivalent municipal ERP system) is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft 365.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Skills: Strict adherence to state tax deadlines, strong organization, and professional communication skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Requirements: Ability to pass a background check and qualify for a municipal bond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
